I just wanted to share with you something I read the other day
that both motivated me and opened my eyes to what's really
important when it comes to finding success!
One of the best descriptions of the psychological factors necessary
for ultimate success was made by John Powell, 4 time Olympian,
2 x Bronze medal winner and former world record holder in the
discus throw.
He threw the discus 236 feet (71.9m) when he was 40 years old
and achieved this with much LESS natural physical ability and
strength that his competitors.
Through hard work and belief in himself, he developed almost
flawless technique and a reputation for coming up with a great
performance when he needed it most. He said;
"The psychological tenacity needed for success in anything can be
broken down into 3 simple factors;
BELIEF, VISION AND METHOD.
Belief - Is self-confidence, knowing your path and knowing you can
succeed.
Vision - Is your goal, you have to know what you want in order to
get it.
Method - Is the process you use to fulfill your vision, how you train
and how you handle yourself in the pressure and excitement of
competition."
